Purpose

This policy ensures that PRAKAI PTY LTD meets its legal and ethical requirements in regard to the collection, storage, disclosure, and use of the personal information it holds in regard to individuals.

  • In collecting personal information, PRAKAI PTY LTD complies with the requirements set out in the Privacy Act 1988.

  • Personal information, including sensitive information, is collected from individuals in order for PRAKAI PTY LTD to carry out its business functions. PRAKAI PTY LTD only collects and stores information directly related to its business purposes and legal requirements for providing services.

  • Sensitive information is only collected if a permitted general or health situation applies under the Privacy Act (16A, 16B), such as:

    • Collection required or authorised by Australian law or a court/tribunal order.

    • It is unreasonable or impracticable to obtain consent.

    • Collection is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to life, health, or safety, or to take action in relation to unlawful activity or serious misconduct.

  • PRAKAI PTY LTD ensures individuals:

    • Know why their information is collected, how it will be used, and who it will be disclosed to.

    • Are made aware of legal requirements for collection.

    • Can access their personal information upon request.

    • Do not receive unwanted direct marketing.

    • Can correct incorrect information.

    • Can lodge complaints if they believe their personal information has been mishandled.
